What is this?
An independent website where the public can browse all 88 entries of the competition for the new Maksimir Stadium and vote for the ones they like most.
On 24 September 2026 the jury awarded five prizes; the winner is VG13 Architects from Milan. The jury’s decision is expert and official. This website asks a different question: which design do the people who will use the stadium like?
This is an unofficial, fun poll without identity checks and has no legal effect on the competition or the design contract. The result is a rough picture of public mood, not an authoritative vote.
About the competition
- An international open architectural and urban design competition for the conceptual design of the Svetice Sports and Recreation Centre – Maksimir Stadium.
- Contracting authorities: the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb. Organiser: the Zagreb Society of Architects (DAZ).
- The competition ran from 20 March to 17 July 2026. 88 entries were submitted by teams from 32 countries.
- 85 entries were ranked and 3 were not admitted to evaluation (the model was not delivered on time). They are shown here too, and you can vote for them.
- According to the City, demolition of the old stadium is expected in 2027 and construction of the new one in 2029.

Voting rules
- Each person votes for exactly three entries. Every selected entry gets one vote; the order of selection does not matter.
- No sign-up, no email. One vote per browser; a new vote from the same browser replaces the old one.
- On the voting page, entries are shown in random order and without the jury rank, so that position in the list does not influence the choice.
- The ranking is public and refreshed every minute. Voting is open until further notice.
- Against abuse we use Cloudflare Turnstile (a bot check) and a limit on votes from the same network. Someone determined can vote more than once; that is why this is a poll, not an election. We may exclude obvious manipulation (e.g. hundreds of votes in a few minutes) from the ranking and will say so publicly.
Where the data comes from
All information about the entries comes from official documents published by the contracting authority: the ranking record (codes, rank and jury statements in Croatian and English), the expert committee report (authors, roles and countries), Appendix III (the official image of each entry) and the official results release with the panels of the prize-winning entries.
We take only the names, roles and countries of the participants. We do not publish the personal identification numbers and addresses found in the original records. Some team names are shortened (e.g. “Zaha Hadid Architects” instead of the company’s legal name). If you spot a mistake, let us know at maksimirskistadion@gmail.com.

Copyright in all entries belongs to their authors. We only show material the contracting authority published to inform the public: one official image per entry and the panels of the five prize-winning entries.
